Let's laugh together!
A selection of comedies for a dose of humor in August.
If there’s one thing that unites us all, it’s humor. Laughter truly works wonders and helps us forget everyday worries, even if just for a moment. And what better place to recharge with a solid dose of humor than in a movie theater with friends and a great comedy?
In August, we guarantee laughter all month long, because the Apollo Kino lineup will feature more comedies than there are popcorn kernels in our warehouse. And comedies are exactly the kind of films where you should bring your movie buddies along—so you can all laugh together. No tension—just lightness and laughter, perfect for a great weekday evening or a fun-filled weekend.
There’s no doubt that cinema and entertainment go hand in hand, and this month’s movie selection is absolute proof of that. So pick a film from the comedy collection, head to the cinema, grab some tasty movie snacks, and let yourself laugh from the heart!
The Bad Guys 2
Everyone’s favorite felons are back, and this time, they’ve got company. In the new action-packed chapter from DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed comedy smash about a crackerjack crew of animal outlaws, our now-reformed Bad Guys are trying (very hard) to be good but instead find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls.
The Naked Gun
Only one man has the particular set of skills... to lead Police Squad and save the world! Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson) follows in his father's footsteps. Based off the widely popular comedy franchise The Naked Gun and television series "Police Squad!" by Jim Abrahams and David Zucker and Jerry Zucker.
The Roses
Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy and Theo: successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites. The Roses is a reimagining of the 1989 classic film The War of the Roses, based on the novel by Warren Adler.
